Abu Dhabi: The General Authority for Health Services (GAHS) in Abu Dhabi has agreed six health insurance providers for private and public sector organizations for the forthcoming health insurance scheme.
The scheme would be implemented on July 1.
Daman has been chosen the authorized health insurance provider for all public sector organizations, while five companies have been accepted by the GAHS for private sector companies Al Mashreq Al Arabic Insurance Company, Al Dhafra Insurance Company, Oman Insurance Company, Al Buhaira National Insurance Company, and Al Wathba National Insurance Company.
Institutions, which fall under the Phase 1 category, include all governmental and semi-governmental companies, in addition to private institutions with over 1,000 employees.
The first is low-income residents and their dependents, as well as those whose monthly salaries are less than Dh 3,000 with accommodation. The second categories are those with salary of Dh 4,000 without accommodation.
