Last month, the United States Senate listed a “Health Week” to deem modest changes to the health care system. It was unsuccessful to pass anything. The House of Representatives could even do better. It could make serious progress in health care improvement by considering legislation that will meaningfully change the health care system to get better contact and affordability. The House of Representatives must consider policies that endorse personal control over health care dollars, enlarge consumer choice and even competition, and decrease the regulation of health care.

The House of Representatives should decide whether to go on with a violent health care program or evade this difficult task by focusing on significant but ancillary issues. Three key tests would determine whether its proposals are sufficiently bold
· Personal manage over health care dollars
· Expanded consumer option and competition
· A net decrease in health care regulation
