Pennsylvania is one of the better states today in the nation for ensuring that children are covered by proper health insurance. Pennsylvania, according to the state health insurance department, in recent years has ranked at or about the top of the list of the most populous states in the percentage of children who have health insurance coverage

In fact, state statistics show, 93 percent of all Pennsylvanian’s have some form of moreover private or publicly-funded health care coverage, and more than 92 percent of all the state’s children have health care coverage.

The state has come a long way while the days of the War on Poverty. In 1966, for example, it was one of only six states to implement the new Medicaid program.
